Water4Life Ambassadors Tell Their Stories
Escondido Christian School
Rudy Shaffer is very grateful to have been invited to Escondido Christian School where he demonstrated our water filter to 300+ students and 25 elementary teachers. With the help of Escondido Christian School, we raised funds to provide safe drinking water to families in Kenya. Students admired the way the water filter turned brown water into clean water safe for drinking. A few of the students were invited to taste the filtered water, which elicited cheers from everyone. The students volunteered to become ambassadors for Water4Life, changing the world in the process!
“And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.” ~Matthew 10:42 ESV
Maple Valley Elementary
During Maple Valley Elementary Missions Month Kick-off Chapel, kindergarten through sixth grade students learned some startling statistics about the lack of clean water in countries around the world. They chose to become Water4Life Ambassadors and join Mr. Rudy Shaffer’s venture to take water filters to Vietnam and Cambodia.
As part of their fundraising campaign, the students participated in a Walk 4 Water Walk-a-Thon. The proceeds raised were used to purchase additional filters. In aggregate these amazing students raised $5,600!
Hunter Moore
Hunter Moore was able to work with Water4Life Ambassadors for his Eagle Scout project. The project went well, and all the parts for the water filter kit were delivered. Hunter enlisted friends, family, and members of his troop to help assemble the water filter kits. In addition, he collected $750 to donate towards the purchase of the water filter buckets as shown in the photos. Hunter was pleased to work with our organization to bring safe, clean drinking water to hundreds of children in Nepal.
Josh Walters’s story
“Hi, my name is Josh Walters. I am a Boy Scout working on my Eagle and for my project I decide to help people understand the importance of water, while at the same time helping get donations for water filters for an orphanage in Uganda, Africa. I did a presentation and demonstration using the Sawyer Water Filter for my church and educated over 50 people on the diseases you can get from bad water.
I really didn’t know what to expect for the number of people that would want filters. I just hoped I could help get the word out that everyone needs to have a filter with their emergency supplies. In the end, I was able to help 52 families in my church get filters. I also was hoping for at least 10-15 filters to Water4Life Ministry. I ended up getting 34 filters to send with the Water4life Ministry Uganda team, thanks to so many generous people donating. It was a really awesome project and I am glad I got to help so many people.”
